Maryssa Block is in her third year of teaching, and she teaches in the Access Classroom (for students with special needs) at Madison County High School where she works with all high school grade levels.
Block was inspired to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a teacher. She holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education.
Every day, she loves seeing each child’s personality, and noticing how unique and special each child is. She has learned, that in spite of their special situations, they each seem to always want more knowledge. She tells her students that they are just like every other kid, and they can do whatever they put their minds to.
Block is the oldest of three. Her sister is an aerospace engineer, and her brother is on a full-ride scholarship for football at Tulane University in New Orleans, La.
