Terry Wells, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, April 15, at First United Methodist Church, in Madison, with a burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation was on Friday, April 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home. Wells was born and raised in Madison, and he graduated high school in 1957. He married on August 4, 1961 and joined the Army. He moved to Atlanta in 1966, after getting out of the military. He attended college and worked for EMS Technologies on a part-time basis, before starting full-time work in 1973, working for 31 years before retiring.
Wells loved living in Madison and moved back in 2004. He collected BB guns and was a tinkerer. He liked working outside on the farm. He loved his Airedale Terrier “Stella”. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Cherry Lake United Methodist Church.
Wells is survived by his wife: Joy Wells of Madison; two sisters: Rena Richardson of Atlanta, Ga.; and Ginger Copeland (Butch) of Gainesville, Fl.; one brother: Ken Wells (Jane) of Greenville; two sister-in-laws: Joyce Wells of Live Oak and Carolyn Wells of Atlanta, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Clyde, Carlton and Ben Wells.
Donations may be made to Madison Youth Ranch, located at 1647 NE Captain Buie Rd. in Pinetta.
