The Madison County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is delightfully run by five fabulous ladies who all share a great passion for what they do and truly define what it means to work with a family dynamic.
Kim Washington upholds her duties as the executive assistant to Sheriff Harper and has been a part of the team since 2017. She started her career as a correctional officer for the jail in 2008 and then found her way into dispatch communications where she worked for five years. From there she moved to administrative assistant and on to where she is now.
Sue Tuten is the civil secretary, and proud of it, as she has an upcoming work anniversary of 21 years in October. Despite being there for as long as she has, she states that she has learned something new everyday and the outcome is always rewarding at the end of each day. Prior to becoming the civil secretary, Tuten worked for the department of corrections in Tallahassee until she was offered her current position in 2000.
Tammy Olive is in charge of the criminal records and warrants, and she will be celebrating 13 years of dedication this December. She previously worked with the Guardian ad Litem program to help be a voice for children involved in domestic abuse, among other things. Being in that line of work, of course, is very heartbreaking, and she felt that a change was needed. Olive enjoys all aspects of her career and feels that there is a never a dull moment.
Lessia Gray has worked as the finance director since 2016 and enjoys the challenge that the job gives her each day, as working with numbers everyday is no easy feat. She has worked in government most of her life, starting out in Georgia. In 2007, she was then offered a job at the clerks office, handling the finances and nine years later, was asked to work for the MCSO.
Freda Fiffia is the first smiling face you'll see when you walk through the door. She is the administrative assistant for MCSO and has been a part of the team since January 2021. Fiffia became part of the team when Sheriff Harper swooped her away from the Supervisor of Elections by offering her the position.
Their gleaming smiles and warm hearts make the MCSO environment warm and inviting. They each love what they do and never seem to find a dull moment in their day. These five ladies are truly fabulous.
