This past week was home to the Fourth of July, and with it, the celebration of freedom. There were fireworks, various foods and much-needed family time. Not only am I thankful for the time spent with my community, but I wanted to give thanks to those who fight for our country and work as first-responders. Without any of those jobs being filled, we would lose our protection and high-speed assistance for injuries and illnesses.
I also wanted to thank my community. Holidays that bring together this small-town community create an environment that is fun to witness. Walking around Lake Frances, I ran into several people that I knew, some that I see every day and some that I haven't seen in years. I love that we Madison residents have the ability to walk around communal events and automatically know at least five people in the vicinity (not counting the ones that already know you because of your parents). This would never happen in Pensacola, that's for sure.
I hope you all had a great Fourth of July, and really took in the time that you had with your families and community. Again, this celebration would not be possible without the many brave souls who are in the military, and I would like to give thanks to them and all other first-responders. Our country stays afloat because of the hard-working people who fill those positions. Thank you to the Madison community as well, you never disappoint.
