As summer comes to a close, my family and I have been in a mix of emotions, which typically happens around this time of year. This last week is the last step before my junior year of college officially starts, and while I am excited to go back to my life in Pensacola, I have enjoyed (as always) the summer here in Madison. This summer was different than the last few as I started several new adventures. I coached a travel ball team, which was the best experience, went to a conference in Birmingham as a representative of UWF student-athletes, and rekindled connections with the people around me. These adventures have made it even harder to go back to college, but I know there are more memories to be made and more ball games waiting for me in the future.
As you reflect on your summer, think about your growth and how far you have came in the last couple of months. I'm sure there have been obstacles and trying times where it seemed like you may not have been getting anywhere with your self-progression or with life in general. However, those have no match against the overall progress and gained knowledge that has come about during the summer. I am excited for this upcoming year and for you guys to be along with me as I (and we) continue our journey. Thank you all for a wonderful summer, and I am proud of you!
