Theatre Guild Valdosta (TGV), Valdosta's community theatre company has announced their 32nd season. Season ticket packages are now on sale, as well as memberships and various donation levels.
The new season opens with a fun "whodunnit" based on the popular Hasbro board game, "Clue." Was it Col. Mustard in the kitchen, with the rope? Perhaps you can put together the clues and deduce the answer. Featuring characters from the classic game, this promises to be a fun evening. Performances for "Clue: On Stage" take place Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18 and 20; Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 24 to 27 and Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 1 through Oct. 3.
In December, the Christmas spirit will be on full display for TGV's annual Christmas show. The show promises to be fun and heartwarming entertainment for the entire family. Performances for the "TGV Christmas Show" will take place from Thursday, Dec. 17 through Monday, Dec. 21.
Sometimes the saddest moments can bring the biggest laughs, especially when it involves a funeral in the south. TGV's next offering, "Southern Fried Funeral" will be sure to bring plenty of laughs as the Frye family struggles to plan Dewey's funeral without killing each other first. "Southern Fried Funeral "opens Thursday, Feb. 4 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 7 and Thursday, Feb. 11 through Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.
The season wraps up with another classic mystery. This time, it is Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express." The final performance of the season opens on Thursday, May 13 and will continue until Sunday, May 16 and Thursday, May 20 through Saturday, May 22.
There will also be two performances by the Gingerbread Players, the youth wing of TGV. Those shows include "Sleepy Hollow" and "The Enchanted Bookshop." The Gingerbread productions are separate from the TGV Mainstage productions.
Season ticket packages for the four Mainstage productions begin at $75, which includes a TGV membership (a $15 value).
