Thomas Junius Kinsey
Tommy passed away peacefully Sunday, July 10, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with his nephew, Waldo and his niece, Tammy by his side holding his hand until he went to his heavenly home.
Tommy was born on July 31, 1936 in the peaceful town of Pinetta, Fla. He was the son of Waldo Briggs Kinsey, Sr. and Irma Davenport Kinsey.
Tommy left home to pursue his education at Santa Fe College and Florida Atlantic University and graduated with a degree in horticulture. While in Miami, he studied to get his pilot’s license which he kept up-to-date until 2019. When he returned home to North Florida, he spent time serving the people of Madison County on the floor of the Florida House of Representatives in Tallahassee.
But the most impressive thing about Tommy was his heart and humbleness. Tommy spent most of his life in service to others whether it was caring for his aging mother and father, or taking care of his sister Nancy for many years after their parents passed away. Tommy also volunteered his time at Pinetta United Methodist Church and, on many occasions, was asked to do flower arrangements for the church from flowers picked at the family nursery in Pinetta.
For many years, without complaint, Tommy would drive his mother and other ladies from the Pinetta community to Madison to do their weekly shopping, while he waited patiently. Tommy's heart was as big as they come, he didn’t always show his love with words, he showed it more with his actions. He was always faithful and ever present. Tommy kept his faith in God to the very end. He will be greatly missed by his family that he left here on earth but we are comforted knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior patiently waiting until we meet again.
Funeral services will be held graveside on Friday, July 15, at 11 a.m.,at Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Pinetta.
Beggs Funeral Home, Madison, is assisting the family with arrangements.
