Mr. Thomas M. Barclay, age 76, died Friday, May 26 in Gainesville, Fl.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 29 in the Chapel of T. J. Beggs, Jr. & Sons Madison, Fl., with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. The family received friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 28 at Beggs Funeral Home.

He was born in Madison County, and was a lifelong resident. When he graduated from Greenville High School, he enlisted in the Navy. Upon discharge, he came home and worked as a mechanic for Boothe’s Service Station in Greenville. He was also employed as a logger for David Cruce, Jr. Logging Co.
He was a member of American Legion Post 131, Greenville, and New Macedonia Baptist Church, Greenville. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He would help anyone who needed something fixed or repaired.
He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Barclay; a brother, James P. Barclay; and two sisters, Mildred Sweet and Bernice Gruzca Odom.
He is survived by two daughters, Pam Barclay of Tallahassee and Melinda Barclay of Greenville; his former wife, Veronica Barclay of Greenville; three grandchildren: Victoria Ellyn Barclay, Brittany Danielle Barclay, and Christopher Lee Gianino, Jr.; four sisters: Grace Battle (Hall) of Pensacola, Jo Ann Byington of Valdosta, Frances Arnold (Sonny) of Madison, and Wanda Byington (Junior) of Greenville; a brother, Cleveland Barclay of Fernandina Beach; and two great grandchildren.
