A driver failed to stop for vehicles waiting to turn and crashed on Monday, May 11 at 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of West Base Street and Parramore Avenue. According to the Madison Police Department report, Travis Deon Adams, 31, of Madison was stopped on Base Street waiting to make a left turn onto south Parramore Avenue. April Leigh Herring, 36, of Madison was stopped behind Adams, waiting for him to make his left turn. Kathryn Elizabeth Burnette, 16, of Madison was traveling west on Base Street in the same lane as Adams and Herring. Burnette failed to stop for the stopped traffic and her 2006 Toyota Tundra struck Herring in the rear of her 2013 Kia Sedan. This caused Herring to strike the rear of Adams’ 2011 Nissan car. Burnette’s passenger, Sherry Burnette, 42, of Madison was transported to Madison County Memorial Hospital with complaints of back pain.
