Tony Mashburn rose from the rank of an entry-level patrolman to sergeant following a promotion within the Madison Police Department (MPD).
Sgt. Mashburn has been in law enforcement career April 27 of 2015, giving him just over a year of experience. The son of a law enforcement officer himself, Mashburn says that it was his father who inspired him to take this path to becoming a police officer. “I looked up to him,” said Mashburn. After graduating from North Carolina A&T State University, Mashburn knew that law enforcement was in his future.
A native of Tallahassee, Mashburn now serves the Madison community with vigor and enjoys being there for its people. “I like helping people, and solving cases,” said Mashburn.
Mashburn would like to see improvements for both himself and the MPD in the future; namely, he would like to see the MPD continue to grow and gain access to new resources. “I want to see [the MPD] grow bigger,” said Mashburn. For himself, Mashburn also hopes for there to be continual growth; he enjoys coming in to work and learning something new everyday, and he hopes to continue to grow and thrive in the career he holds.
