In his first season playing football for the Florida State University (FSU) Seminoles, former Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowboy Travis Jay has made his presence known on the team. Jay saw action in six games this season as a kick-returner and defensive back. Jay racked up a total of 229 kickoff return yards on 10 returns, with two returns of 31 yards each. Jay had two punt returns with a total of 20 yards, giving him a total of 249 all-purpose yards.
Defensively, Jay chalked up 17 solo tackles and nine assists, for 26 total tackles. Jay also had one forced fumble and one spectacular, one-handed interception in the final game of the season on Saturday, Dec. 12, against the Duke University Blue Devils. That catch made several hi-light reels that week.
Jay is the son of Valerie Roberson, of Greenville.
