Firefighters not only handle fires, but are also skilled in search and rescue. Rescue is not limited to humans either, as the Special Operations Unit of the Large Animal Rescue Division of the Madison County Fire Rescue (MCFR) team has gained two new members.
On the week of Monday, May 22, Firefighters Radford and Kercher from MCFR completed the Large Animal Operations training. Due to their completion of this training, they are now able to join the Special Operations Unit in the Large Animal Rescue Division of the department. The training was assisted by the Florida State Fire College and the University of Florida Veterinary Program.
