Jimmie Bryant and Rossie Edwards Bryant proudly welcomed their new baby daughter, Vanessa, into their family on Aug. 12, 1960. They raised her and her siblings in the Georgetown Community of Madison, Fla., where she remained a lifelong resident. Vanessa was preceded in death by both parents and sisters, Mary Alice Williams and Delry Bryant. Lawnside celebration of life services, with COVID-19 restrictions, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, on the lawn of J.P. Moore Mortuary, located at 379 W. Base St., in Madison. Public viewing and visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 in the chapel of J.P. Moore Mortuary, (850) 973-6677. Having attended church with her family since her youth, Vanessa loved the Lord and accepted Him as her Redeemer many years ago. She became a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Vanessa was a compassionate caregiver who considered it as her duty to help those who needed her assistance. Having had no children of her own, she willingly became a second mother who helped to raise many of her nieces and nephews. In her spare time, Vanessa enjoyed the challenge of completing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who regarded her as a “Bad Mama Jama.” On Monday, Jan. 17, Vanessa Bryant quietly rested from her earthly labor and entered into her Heavenly rewards. Those who share the sorrow of Vanessa’s passing and are keepers of her cherished memories are her brother, Joseph Bryant, of Tallahassee, Fla.; special nieces: Tawanha Bryant, of Madison, Fla., Renada (William) Tarver, of Hagerstown, Minn, Kenyatta Bryant, of Valdosta, Ga., Tananjalyn Bryant, of Madison, Fla., Shekea Weatherspoon, of Live Oak, Fla. and Tokethia Bryant, of Madison, Fla.; nephews: Therrion Williams, of Quincy, Fla., Alyvester (Dalphanie) Sloan, of Perry, Fla., Franchez Wiggins, of Jacksonville, Fla., Fredderick Wiggins, of San Antonio, Texas, Troy Hawkins, Jr., of Madison, Fla. and Christopher Bryant, of Tallahassee, Fla.; caregiver, Shauntay Williams, of Madison, Fla. and a host of aunts and uncles, together with many other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
