Victor C. Matheny passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 after a lengthy illness in Palm Coast, Fla. Victor was born in Quincy, Fla on Sept. 13, 1937.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Matheny, of Palm Coast, Fla.; and one brother, Tommy Matheny, of Madison, Fla. he is predeceased by his father, Candler C. Matheny; mother, Shelly Herndon Matheny; one brother, Mahlon Matheny; and two sisters: Janet Peterson and Nancy Matheny.
After high school, Victor served four years in the US Navy. Shortly thereafter, he lived in Gainesville, Fla., where he worked for Sperry Rand Corporation. During this time, he obtained his pilots license, with certification in instruction, a&p license and jet rating. In 1971, he relocated to Tallahassee, Fla. and was a corporate pilot for two private firms until 1988, at which time he joined the State of Florida Aviation Fleet. He retired to his farm in Madison, Fla. in 2004.
