Mrs. Wanda Brown, age 88, died Wednesday, March 11 in the Lake Park Nursing Home, Madison. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., on Friday, March 13, in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home, Madison, with burial at Harmony Cemetery, Cherry Lake. The family received friends at her home, 127 NW Hawks Ave. Cherry Lake, on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. She was born in Hialeah, Florida and at age nine, she with her family moved to Cherry Lake. She worked for Metal Products, TG&Y, Food Lion and raised cattle. During the tobacco season, she was a U.S.D.A. inspector and graded tobacco here in Madison and followed it to North Carolina. She loved gardening, growing flowers and baking cakes. She was a longtime member of Harmony Baptist Church in Cherry Lake. She is survived by two sons: Walter Brown (Debbie), of O’Brien and Edward Brown (Cindy), of Cherry Lake; one daughter, Margaret Ann Miller, of Willow Springs, Mo.; sister-in-law, Natalie Walker, of Cherry Lake; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Kenneth Brown; a son, William Leroy Brown; a great-granddaughter, Abby Renee Sevor; and a brother, T. L. Walker.
