At the regular meeting of Post 606 on Monday, Aug. 8, plans were disclosed for a celebration Luau to be held at Blue Springs on Aug. 27. Billy Bunting and Wayne W. Weger III are co-chairmen of this first annual event.

Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Grguric of Greenville announce the birth of a baby girl on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Madison County Hospital. The baby weighed 6 lb and 15 oz.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department has a new dispatcher on board. Janice Colvin, formerly chief dispatcher with the Taylor County Sherriff's Department, is the new face behind the dispatcher's desk at the county jail.
Tracy Jean Revels, of Madison, received her doctoral degree in History from Florida State University during the Aug. 4 commencement exercises.
