March 21, 1975 Richard Petty, who claimed his first Winston Cup Victory at Talladega 500, will be seeking a second straight win of the 33-degree banks of the mammoth racing and testing facility. The Wood Brothers have won all four of the previous Winston 500s. Donnie Allison captured the inaugural event in 1971, averaging a record 147.419 miles per hour.
