After playing softball, basketball and volleyball in high school, but ultimately deciding to pursue her softball career throughout college, Ramsey Sullivan is now a rising senior catcher at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla.
Sullivan, a 2017 graduate of Aucilla Christian Academy and Greenville resident, signed her National Letter of Intent on Jan. 9, 2017, to further her softball career at Southeastern University. So what has she been up to since then?
Since her signing day, Sullivan went on to take third place with her Aucilla basketball teammates in the 2017 state tournament and took second place in the 2017 softball state tournament. After graduating from Aucilla, she packed her bags to move four hours south to Lakeland, Fla.
In her first season for the Southeastern Fire, she was the starting third baseman, with her team making it to the NAIA Opening Round. Her second year with the Fire began behind the plate, as a catcher, where she would stay for the next two years. Her second year also came with a new coach, one that would not prove to last very long at Southeastern. In her junior year, yet another coach took over the Fire softball team and had much more success than the former, despite the fact that their season was cut short due to COVID-19.
Sullivan will be entering her senior year at Southeastern in the fall, and will be finishing up her bachelor's degree in Broadcasting and minors in Digital Journalism and English. She has accepted positions as the Football Live Stream Host and Senior Producer for Southeastern Chapel Productions, beginning in the fall.
In the midst of her college experience for the last three years, she also met her now fiance, Heibert Romero, a former Southeastern baseball player. The two got engaged in March 2020, and will be tying the knot in October 2021, following her graduation from Southeastern.
Sullivan is currently an intern at Greene Publishing, Inc, in Madison and wants to pursue a career in Broadcast Journalism after graduation. She is the daughter of J'son and Shannon Sullivan, of Greenville and has one brother, Will Sullivan.
