William Jackson Hunter, Jr., 54, passed away on March 7, 2021, in Greenville, Fla. William was born Jan. 24, 1967 in Madison, to William Jackson Hunter, Sr. and Thelma Jean Wynn Hunter.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. William worked as a farmer raising beef cattle, pine trees and pecan trees. In addition to farming, he worked 20 years with Yellow Roadway Trucking Company in Lake Park, Ga. He enjoyed gardening and loved all outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing.
William was preceded in death by his parents, William Jackson Hunter, Sr. and Thelma Jean Hunter (Wynn).
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debbie Lynn Hunter; his children: Karagan Johnson, Erika Hunter, Wyatt Hunter and Desmon Hunter; his sisters, Traci Mickell and Janet Baldwin (Donald); his grandchildren: Leighton Surles, Brayden Skinner and Gauge Johnson.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 25, at 2 p.m. at Cherry Lake Methodist Cemetery, with Steve McHargue officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home Development Department 51 Children’s Way, Enterprise, Fla. 32725 (Please indicate on the check MYR donation).
