William Luther (Billy) Sullivan, 71, of Madison joined his heavenly family on March 31, 2021. He was born on December 15, 1949 and was a devoted son to the late Cecil and Mirl Sullivan. He was a lifelong resident of Madison.
Billy was a farmer and land steward for over 50 years. Billy was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and served the church faithfully in several capacities. He was a trustee, advocate and supporter of the United Methodist Children’s Home and was instrumental in the building of the Madison Youth Ranch campus. He was an avid golfer and outdoor enthusiast.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife of over 35 years, Dianne C. Sullivan; and his parents, William Cecil Sullivan and Mirl Sullivan (Ogletree).
Billy is survived by his two daughters, Beth Sullivan Skipper (Nick) and Michelle Dickinson Cruce (Kirk) both of Madison. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to his grandsons, Tyler Land (Olivia) and Dylan Cruce; his granddaughter, Kendall Land Webb (Drew); and great-grandchildren: Tinsley, Harper, Mia and soon to arrive baby Webb. He will also be missed by his close cousin, Dub Wyche (Lynn); and other special friends and family.
Visitation took place at the family home on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A graveside funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on April 3, 2021, at Oakridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The United Methodist Children’s Home, Madison Youth Ranch, 51 Children’s Way, Enterprise, Fla. 32725, in memory of William L. Sullivan.
