William Richard "Billy" Chewning passed away on April 21, 2020, in Valdosta, Ga. at the age of 90. Mr. Chewning was born in Dekalb County, Ga. to the late Silas Grady Chewning and Eva Purnell Chewning and had nine brothers and sisters. Mr. Chewning was a retired business owner and he loved to spend his time fishing or with his grandchildren.
Mr. Chewning is survived by his son, Joe Chewning, of Crystal River, Fla.; and his daughters: Sandy Kenny (Bobby), of Hahira, Ga. and Cherri Arnold (Paul), of Valdosta. He had seven grandchildren: Kristen Alaimo, Austin Chewning, Parker Arnold, Spencer Kenny, Amber Arnold, Kaity Chewning and Kimber Chewning; and six great-grandchildren with one more on the way. He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Tommie Ann Chewning; son, Richard Chewning; and daughter-in-law, Fran Chewning.
