Mr. William “Rick” Richter, III of Lee, Fl. age 80, died on Thursday, June 1, at his son’s home in Madison.
He was employed as a forest ranger/supervisor for Gilman Paper Company for 38 years, retiring in 1999.
He was born in Miami, Fl. on Aug. 26, 1936 to William Richter, Jr. and Margaret Fray Richter.
His wife, Esther Virginia Richter; oldest son, Larry William Richter; and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons: Paul M. Richter (Pamela) of Madison; David A. Richter of Rockledge, Fl. and Matthew R. Richter (Beth) of Quantico, Va.; 10 grandchildren: Chad, Michael, Brandi, Kimberly, Charles, William, Jeremy, Jaxon, Alli, and Eli Richter; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Richter was one of the first Eagle Scouts in Hollywood, Fl. He enjoyed fishing, landscaping and woodworking.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 1 at 11 a.m. for family and close friends with a meal to follow. The service will be held at 175 NE Amaryllis Trail in Madison.
