Mr. William Robert Fourakres, aged 58, died Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at his home in Pinetta. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Horeb Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020 at 10 a.m.
Born in Valdosta, Ga., William was a lifelong resident of Pinetta and the beloved son of Bill and Patty Crafton Fourakres. A 1979 graduate of Madison High School, William spent much of his youth helping his father crop tobacco and playing music all over the countryside with a band of his best friends. He loved to read and always carried a book with him everywhere he went. A devout Christian and member of Pinetta First Baptist, William loved the Lord and served on several mission trips to Haiti with his church.
William loved volunteering to coach his kids' sports teams, never missed a piano recital or a game and served as the President of the PTA at Pinetta Jr. High School. He devoted his life to the service of his family and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren above all else.
He is survived by his mother, Patty Fourakres of Pinetta; his daughter, Jessica Fourakres Murfin (Tim); his son, Adam Fourakres (Erin Maher); son-of-his-heart, Eric Vick (Kelly); and daughter-in-love, Carrieann Rosner all of Jacksonville, Fla.; his sister, Elizabeth Fourakres Hollingsworth (Richard) of Pinetta; his brother-in-law, Richard Kelley of Pinetta; six grandsons: Liam, Ryker, Jobie, Milo, Brooks and Wyatt; and a host of cousins, nieces, aunts and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Fourakres and his sister Shirley Fourakres Kelley.
