The Florida Department of Health office in Madison has announced that the previously issued health advisory for the Withlacoochee River has now been lifted. According to a statement released by the department, tests performed on Friday, Nov. 15, and Monday, Nov. 18, indicated that the water quality on the river showed “an acceptable level of Enterococcus bacteria established by state guidelines.” The results can be found at FloridaDEP.gov/dear/watershed-monitoring-section/content/suwannee-river-basin-sampling-locations.
