Withlacoochee River reaches flood stage

According to information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Withlacoochee River peaked at 77.1 feet, at County Road 150, near Pinetta, on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 10:15 a.m. Further downstream, the river crested at 61.77 feet on Sunday, Oct. 6, at 7:15 a.m. These numbers put the river flooding in the “minor” flood stage category. “Moderate” flooding at County Road 150 is considered to be 79 feet.
