World AIDS Day: Preventing the stigma

Adyson Hammock reporter@greenepublishing.com Every year, on Dec. 1, we commemorate World AIDS Day, aimed to promote awareness and destigmatize the subject of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and to promote further research of cures, vaccines and factors leading to these diseases.  HIV is a chronic, potentially fatal sexually transmitted infection (STI). It can also be spread by injection drug use, contact with infected blood or sharing ne
