A car collided with a semi at the intersection of State Road 53 South and Harvey Greene Drive on Tuesday, May 5 at 6:20 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Berry Terry, 59, of Madison was attempting to turn left (west) from State Road 53 to Harvey Greene Drive. Mason Griffen, 61, of Pinetta was traveling southbound on State Road 53 in his semi with a trailer in tow. Terry steered into Griffen’s path. The right front of Terry’s 1995 Chevy Cavalier collided with the left front of Griffen’s semi. Terry’s vehicle traveled onto the west shoulder and came to rest facing east. Griffen came to rest in the southbound lane of State Road 53 facing southwest. Terry was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Griffen received no injuries. Terry was cited for failure to yield to right of way. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department and EMS assisted FHP on scene.
